Baptist Hospital in North Little Rock following an unexpected illness.
She leaves behind one son, Kenny Jones (Claudette); two daughters,
Jody Dyerfox (Keith Bishop) and Debbie Jones; nine grandchildren,
London, V, Tiffany, Casey, Joseph, Kendall, Cammie, Shelby and
Heather; multiple great-grand-children, nieces and nephews and one
very beloved canine best friend, Sophie Jones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth C. Jones; her
father, Leary Murch, and mother, Maxine Gleckler; her sons, James V.
Dyer and Randall Jones; her granddaughter, Samantha E. Dyer; one
brother, Bill Murch and one sister, Pat Brown. She is survived by one
sister-in-law, Helene Clement Murch in Finland.
She lived in California until 1981 and then moved to Jacksonville,
Arkansas, where she resided until her death.
She was a lifelong hairdresser with many clients who loved her. When
she moved to Arkansas, she and her husband were Exxon dealers for 20+
years at two different locations, Fairpark Exxon and Sixth Street
Exxon, both located in Little Rock. She was the heart of the business
and took pride in managing the books, inventory and everything it took
to successfully serve the residents of the city of Little Rock.
She was an avid painter (and learned to paint during Covid) - creating
over 35 works of art, loved music, antiques, history, travel, and
experiencing new things. She often traveled with her daughter
throughout the year as well as an annual mother/daughter Fall trip to
see the foliage changing color. As well, she took a yearly trip with
her son and his wife to places such as Niagara Falls, New York and
Monterey, California. When her husband was alive, they worked and
played together and enjoyed fishing, hunting, Nascar, camping,
traveling, and the outdoors. She never met a stranger and would
literally strike up a conversation with anyone. She enjoyed her home
and close friendships with her neighbors (who are also widows), Marion
Dutcher and Sharon Sager. A strong believer in Jesus Christ - she
often discussed her prayer time, new praise music she had come across
and looked forward to being reunited with her loved ones again.
The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Dr.
Joseph DeLoach, Vascular Surgeon in Little Rock, for his medical
expertise, love, empathy, support and care for our mother during her
stay at CCU Coronary Unit-Baptist Hospital. In lieu of flowers,
please send donations to Eubanks Veterinary Clinic located at 1219 W.
35th Street, North Little Rock, AR 72118 - (501) 753-8337. Dr.
Eubanks and his staff were like family to her and we will always be
grateful for the love and care they provided to Sophie throughout the
years.
