Timothy James Rooney

Timothy James Rooney, 71, passed away on September 9, 2026, after a brief illness. Tim was the middle child of five siblings born to Herbert A. and Lorraine Luce Rooney. He was born on April 20, 1955, in Kenton, OH. His family relocated to St. Charles, IL during his sophomore year of high school. Tim was an outstanding all-around athlete and earned a football scholarship to Illinois State as a running back. After graduation he attended the University of TX, Austin for his master’s degree. His parents had relocated to Little Rock, AR, he joined them there. Tim was a computer programmer at United Systems of Arkansas.

Tim is survived by his spouse of 34 years, Angela Ward Rooney, his siblings,; Barb (Everett) Quigley of Milford, IL; Doug (Marilyn) Rooney of Johnsburg, IL; and Peggy (David) James of Little Rock, AR; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Wendy (Dan) Beadle of Little Rock AR.

Funeral Services will be held September 22, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, AR, 72117. A Celebration of Life will be held in Burns Park at a later date.

Tim loved life, lived large, and “did it his way.” Think of him when you shoot fireworks or stare into space pondering what is out there. His quick wit, and sense of humor will be missed. He will be missed by all who knew him.
