

Wallis Masters “Skip" Spence, 87, of North Little Rock, passed away September 11, 2026. He was born in North Little Rock, Arkansas, to parents Ernest H. and Mary Edith Spence. Skip was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Reynard, Thad B., James R., and Claud L. Spence. He is survived by sister-in-law Virginia Spence and cousin Mary Masters, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Skip graduated from North Little Rock High School and from the Art Institute of Chicago. After which, he worked in advertising for many years. He was a talented watercolor artist. He served six years in the army reserve. Skip was an avid golfer. But, his biggest passion was bass fishing, and at one time, he considered going professional. He even designed his own bass boat, naming it “Hooker.”
He owned Superior General Contractors and spent 30 years as a roofing contractor.
A remembrance service will be held Thursday, September 24, at 11:00am at Rest Hills Funeral Home in North Little Rock. His ashes will be strewn at his favorite fishing hole.
