Winnie Fred Brown

Born in Arkansas, Winnie was a proud graduate of Gillham High School. She was a dedicated member of Baring Cross Baptist Church in North Little Rock, where she found community and fellowship.

Winnie’s passion for basketball was evident throughout her life. She played in a professional women’s league and was an ardent Arkansas Razorback fan, with a knowledge and enthusiasm for the sport that could have rivaled any coach. Her love for basketball was only matched by her devotion to her family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter, Rhonda Carroll, and her son, Charles (Kim) Tipton, all of Cabot, Arkansas. Grandchildren Josh Tipton, Jacob Tipton and Lacey Tipton-Spradlin, 7 Great-Grandchildren. Winnie is also remembered by numerous friends and extended family.

Winnie was preceded in death by her parents, Ollie and Eunice Jester, and her siblings Noel Jester, Nell Denson, Verlene Wallace, and Fern Cover.

A memorial service to celebrate Winnie’s life will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, at 1:00 PM at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home, 7724 Landers Rd., North Little Rock, AR 72117.
