passed away surrounded by family on Sept. 2. A Pennsylvania native and Penn State graduate at age 18, Charlotte moved to South FL with husband Lenny in 1948. While raising two children and helping to run Lenny’s downtown store, Joel’s shoes, she discovered an outlet for her creativity in Hadassah, becoming Florida’s first president. A National Board member for 40 + years, Charlotte was a talented and witty speaker and writer. She collaborated with her friend Linda Minkes to create and produce over 130 locally aired, Hadassah sponsored TV shows. Their interviewees included Abba Eban, Elliot Gould, Joseph Heller, and Alan King. Always frank and trustworthy, with a keen memory, Charlotte was a loving wife, mother, friend, and Renaissance woman who relished cooking for family and friends. Predeceased by her husband of 47 years, she is survived by son Joel (Nikki), daughter Suzanne (Howard), and grandchildren Paul (Jessica), Shelley (Jordan), Dan, and Steve. Charlotte loved life and hoped to live forever; in our hearts, she will. Services Thursday 11 a.m. at Riverside Gordon, 20955 Biscayne Blvd and interment to follow at Mt. Sinai Cemetery. Shiva to follow immediately at the Wolpe home. Donations to Hadassah or charity of choice.
