Kenny was our good friend since college days, (where he was President of Stan’s fraternity) . He was a friend, counselor and mentor to so many people throughout his life.

Kenny never talked about his accomplishments or successes. He just showed up and did what was right. His generosity and kindness to friends and strangers alike were some of the reasons for the respect he so-well deserved.

The only time Kenny was “unavailable” was during sports playoffs. In fact, if there is a sports channel and a Flanigans above, he’s already signed up.

There are no words to express how much we will miss Kenny.
Our condolences to the Cohan family.

Love, Jill and Stan Komar

I had the privilege of serving as co-chair of Community Leadership Council Gulfstream Academy of Hallandale Beach. He brought his expertise and experience along with a visionary plan to serve the community. His ideas and networking were instrumental in establishing and furthering the cause of the CLC. He will be remembered for his dedication and service. My condolences to his family and friends. 🫶🏻🙏🏻 May he rest in peace and his memory be a blessing. Bonnie Maya

To have met this gentleman was an honor for my family and I , Very generous and genuine man. May he rest in peace 🙏🏼

I met Kenny when I started working in the Hallandale Beach area and quickly learned how much of an impact he had.

A tireless advocate, Kenny approached initiatives with a curious mind and was willing to support the community with donations, time and generosity. He was a visionary that always knew more was possible.

I’ll miss hearing his stories of New York and his Giants while giving me jokes about my Titans.

I am grateful for the time we spent and collaborated together.

My condolences to the family and loved ones in Kenny’s life.

Until next time, Kenny.

To the family and friends of Kenny, words can’t express the sorrow for your loss. I have had the privilege to get to know and work with Kenny for the past few years and he is one of the kindest persons I have met through HBPAL. He never failed to be on time and brought his pleasant and positive energy to whatever event we were working on. My favorite memory was the STEM, science and technology seminar he set up for the PAL kids. We were all lucky to have such a great idea and the support to make it happen for the kids.. everyone truly enjoyed this program and his memory will live on through it. Afterward he would make time to grab a bite at IHOP and share pancakes.. and chat. His care and support for us and all the people he helped was priceless. He will be missed and always remembered as a great friend and person.

My heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of Kenneth A. Cohan. I was deeply saddened to learn of his passing.

Mr. Cohan was always there for me and for the Hallandale Beach community. Whenever I reached out to him asking for assistance for someone in need, he was always willing to help. He generously assisted homeless families, individuals struggling financially, and others who simply needed someone to lend a helping hand. He never hesitated to step up when our community needed him.

I will also never forget his generosity toward the Hallandale Beach Police Explorers, including providing uniforms and supporting our young people. His kindness and willingness to give back made a meaningful difference in many lives.

Mr. Cohan was truly a friend to our community, and I am grateful for the many times I had the opportunity to work with him and witness his generosity firsthand.

He will be sorely missed, but the impact he made on Hallandale Beach and the people he helped will not be forgotten.

My thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time. May he rest in peace. 🙏🏾

There will be a time to talk about everything Kenny did for our community. And there is a lot to talk about. But right now, I don't want to talk about programs, projects or accomplishments. I just want to talk about my friend.

Kenny and I shared a lot of meals and a lot of conversations over the years. We talked about life, our families, what was going on in the community and, of course, plenty about the New York Yankees. I am really going to miss those conversations.

Kenny wasn't just my friend. He knew my family and cared about them. He always asked about my daughter Ashley and wanted to know how she was doing. He spent so many HBPAL events working side by side with my wife Cindy. Somewhere along the way, Kenny simply became part of our lives.

That's the part that hurts right now.

I'm going to miss sitting down for a meal with him. I'm going to miss hearing what he had to say. I'm going to miss talking Yankees with him. And I'm going to miss looking around at an event and seeing Kenny there.

There will be plenty of time to tell everyone about all the good Kenny did.

Today, I just miss my friend.

Rest easy, Kenny. You were a good friend to me and my family, and we are going to miss you.

There will be time to talk about everything Kenny did for our community and the difference he made in so many lives. Today, I just want to talk about my friend Kenny.

We shared a lot of meals over the years and even more conversations. Some were about work, some about life, and plenty were about the New York Yankees. Those are the simple moments I keep thinking about now.

Kenny became a friend to my entire family. He always asked about my daughter Ashley and genuinely cared about what was happening in her life. He spent countless hours alongside my wife Cindy at HBPAL events, working, helping, and doing whatever needed to be done. My family knew Kenny, and Kenny knew and cared about my family. That makes this loss even more personal.

It's hard knowing there won't be another meal, another conversation, another Yankees discussion, or another event where Kenny is there helping out.

There is so much that can and will be said about what Kenny meant to this community. But right now, I simply miss my friend.

Rest easy, Kenny. Thank you for your friendship, for caring about my family, and for all the memories we shared. You will truly be missed.

I have known Kenny since 1985 when is mother Edna became one of my first clients at Dean Witter Reynolds. Kenny soon followed as we bonded instantly. I also managed funds for his brother Ron and his aunts Shirley and Belle.
Kenny became a great friend and I enjoyed many lunches with him at Le Tub and Flanigans and Christine Lee's. Kenny became a member of our Kiwanis Club after months of prodding from me and became an invaluable assistant to Jonathan at the Police Athletic League. Kenny was so humble and hated being recognized for his outstanding contributions. May he rest in peace as he has joined the rest of his family

Kenny was instrumental in helping secure the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dream Center as a home for programs that would directly serve Hallandale Beach youth and families. He worked closely with Q and Pat to help establish Legacy of Hope, recognizing the importance of creating meaningful programs and opportunities for the community.

Kenny’s involvement went far beyond helping launch the program. He maintained a constant presence, offering his time, support, encouragement, and guidance whenever needed. He believed in the mission and, more importantly, believed in the people it served. His commitment helped Legacy of Hope grow into an important partnership and reflected the kind of community service Kenny was known for: showing up, getting involved, and helping turn good ideas into lasting opportunities for others.

Kenny was instrumental in organizing this project, working closely with local high school students and giving them the opportunity to take an active role in planning and running the event. His involvement helped turn the project into more than a one-time activity. Building on its success, Kenny helped expand the initiative into a monthly event through a partnership between the Kiwanis Club of Hallandale Beach and the Police Athletic League of Hallandale Beach. His commitment created meaningful opportunities for students to develop leadership skills, serve their community, and gain hands-on experience.

The members of the Hallandale Beach-Aventura Rotary Club are deeply saddened by Kenny’s departure.
Kenny actively participated in several of our meetings and generously volunteered in some of our service projects. He was a man dedicated to helping young people and making a positive difference in their lives.
A good man with a giving heart, Kenny touched many lives through his kindness and commitment to others.
We are grateful for the time he shared with our Club, and we are certain that his positive impact will live on in the many lives he touched.
He will be remembered with affection and gratitude by the Hallandale Beach-Aventura Rotary Club.
May his soul soar freely and peacefully, and may his memory live on in the many lives he touched.

Dear Kenny, I met you recently and we worked together to serve families in Broward County. You supported me and my program and opened doors for me. You were a great soul and I hope you rest in peace. Thank you for everything.

To Kenny's Family, May you walk hand in hand with God during this time of honor and remembrance. Kenny was a lot of fun to work with and be around. The joy that his work with the Police Athletic League brought him was very easily seen. He cared about things like: social justice: protecting children; and providing opportunities for those of us downtrodden by misfortune. He and I agreed on some basic principals in life such as "...the measure of a person is what they will do when they think no one is looking... And also "...the best way to judge a society is how it treats those without power and without economic advantage...". I was honored to work with him on the Hallandale Beach PAL over the past several years, and his tenacity, drive and generosity of spirit act as examples for us all. Lee Chaykin

Kenny was a dear friend of Ricky and I for at least 60 years. He was a wonderful friend.
Kenny was like the brother I never had.
He will be very much missed.
We send our condolences to Kenny’s family
Love,
Roberta and Ricky
