Lisa R. Stein
June 26, 1950 – July 14, 2020
Lisa Rose Stein R.N. caught the trolley to heaven from her home in North Miami, Florida. She began her nursing career at Parkway General Hospital (now JacksonNorth) and in 1984 joined the Hospice movement in it’s infancy with what is now VitasHealthcare. She dedicated the next 32 years to caring for dying patients and their families to ensure peaceful and pain-free passings. She worked at the Vitas inpatient units at North Shore Medical Center, Aventura Medical Center, and Jackson North Medical Center. She is survived by her partner of many years, Robert Aumock, brother Louis (Sally), aunt Nancy Louis and many wonderful cousins. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the charity of your choice.

Lisa and I worked together in the inpatient unit at Aventura Hospital for several years . She was a kind person and an excellent nurse who cared for the patient’s families as much as for the patients themselves . I’m certain she was warmly welcomed by the many she helped who passed before her .

Lisa was one of the first nurses I met when I started to volunteer at Aventura Hospital for Vitas. She was caring, loving and passionate about her work. I admired that and learned as much as I could from her. II will always keep her in my heart and prayers.

I knew Lisa from the animal hospital when she had beautiful Mollie. Lisa was a kind and compassionate woman and a huge animal lover. She will be missed by all who knew her.

Lisa and I worked together for many years, and then became casual friends. She was a valued member of the hospice team. Her kindness and sensitivity was given to all who she met. I’m grateful that I knew her while she was doing some thing that she loved.
