Marsha Goffman

June 29, 1946 – August 18, 2024

Marsha Goffman, beloved wife, sister, aunt, great-aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 78 on August 18, 2024. Marsha was predeceased by her parents, William and Ethel Goffman, and her siblings, Irving Goffman (Judith), Rhoda Goffman Itzcovitch (Irwin), and Herbert “Bobby” Goffman. Marsha was the cherished sister and sister-in-law of Sheldon and the late Marion Goffman with whom she shared a special bond. She is survived by her devoted wife and life partner of many years, Johanne Fauvel-Goffman.

Marsha will be lovingly remembered by her nieces and nephews, Susan and Bill, Sandra and Wendell, Pam and Mike, Mitchell and Louise, Will “BJ” and Amanda, Chantal, and Melissa and her great-nieces and great-nephews, whom she adored, Emily, Rachel, Wendell, Aaron and Quyên, Robyn and Phil, Jillian, Brittany, Erin, Brandon, Patrick, Dwight, and Logan.

Johanne was the love of Marsh’s life and they were devoted to each other for many years, finally able to be legally recognized by marriage in 2015. Auntie Marsha was the favorite of the younger generations, always ready for a quick game of “Simon Says” or off to buy a Rugrats T-shirt or a hockey jersey for her favorite team.

Marsha loved her family fully and fiercely and her heart was big enough embracing both those that she was related to and those she chose as family. Marsha had a very successful career in customer service and won the employee recognition award so many times they named it after her. She cared immensely about others and this was reflected in her devotion to her family, her job, and her voluntary work with so many who needed her support. Marsha had 36 years of recovery in NA and was always looking to help the newcomers.

Marsha’s passing leaves a profound void in the lives of her wife, her family, and all who loved her. Thank you for being a special part of our lives. We are forever better for having loved you.
