Mauricio “Reese” Lopez, Jr., passed away on June 20, 2026, at the age of 34. Born on August 12, 1991, in Miami Beach, Florida, Reese lived a life marked by passion, determination, and an extraordinary capacity to love.
From the time he was young, Reese was full of energy. He had a larger-than-life personality, an infectious smile, and a heart that drew people to him. He could light up a room with his presence and inspire others with his belief that no obstacle was too great to overcome. He was a dreamer, a fighter, and someone who poured his whole heart into everything he pursued.
As a personal trainer and coach, Reese dedicated himself to helping others become stronger—physically, mentally, and emotionally. He believed transformation was about more than appearance; it was about discovering strength, discipline, and confidence. Through his work, he encouraged countless people to believe in themselves and push beyond limitations they thought they could never overcome. Whether he was coaching a client, sharing words of motivation, or pursuing his own fitness goals, Reese led with passion and conviction.
He was also a talented artist who expressed himself through music and creativity. Reese approached life with intensity and purpose, always striving to become a better version of himself. He faced challenges, setbacks, and personal battles along the way, but those who knew him best saw a man who never stopped trying. He worked hard to build the life he envisioned for himself and his family, determined to move forward with hope, discipline, and love.
Above all else, Reese's greatest joy and proudest accomplishment was being a father. His son, Luciano “Lucci” Antonio Lopez, was the center of his world. Reese spoke about Lucci with endless pride and excitement, eager to share stories, photos, and milestones with anyone who would listen. Becoming a father brought out some of his very best qualities—his devotion, his tenderness, and his desire to create a bright future for those he loved.
Reese also cherished the home and family he built with Yaneli Jaimez, whom he loved deeply. He was a devoted partner, a loving son, a loyal brother, a proud uncle, and a steadfast friend. His bond with his mother, his father, his brother, and his extended family was a source of strength throughout his life.
Though his time with us was far too short, Reese leaves behind a legacy of perseverance, encouragement, and unconditional love. He taught those around him to work hard, dream big, keep moving forward, and never stop believing in the possibility of transformation. His life reminds us that people are not defined by their struggles, but by the love they give, the lives they touch, and the hope they continue to carry.
Reese is survived by his beloved son, Luciano “Lucci” Antonio Lopez; his loving partner, Yaneli Jaimez; his father, Mauricio Lopez, Sr.; his mother, Clemencia Diez; his brother, Jorge Diez; as
well as a large and loving extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins who were more like siblings, friends, and clients who cherished him deeply and will carry his memory forward.
A Celebration of Life honoring Reese will be held on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 6:00 p.m. at Riverside Gordon Memorial Chapels, 17250 W. Dixie Highway, North Miami Beach, Florida 33160. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Reese are welcome to attend as we gather to share memories, celebrate his life, and honor the impact he made on those around him. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Luciano "Lucci" Lopez's college fund. Information on how to contribute will be shared soon.
If Reese left us with one lesson, it would be this: keep pushing, keep growing, and never let life's obstacles convince you that you are less than you were created to be. That's how Reese lived—and that's how he'll be remembered.
