Michael (Mikey) Zafiris Kappos was born on April 27, 1991 in Los Angeles, CA. The first part of his life was spent in Sierra Madre and Arcadia, CA where he spent time with his family, playing baseball, skate boarding, basketball, and he was loved by his teachers and friends. At the age of 14 he moved with his parents to Florida, where he attended Everglades High School. He enjoyed riding bikes and driving the car his loving grandmother bought for him. Mikey was an entrepreneur at the early age of 15 and started a business making t-shirts, cutting lawns, and cleaning pools.
Mikey would always stay connected to LA and his family. Mikey would especially like to come to Los Angeles and go to the Lakers Game for his love of Kobe Bryant. He appreciated the finer things in life, nice cars, expensive clothing and fine dining. It was hard to keep up with him, because of his passion to succeed in his personal and professional life.
Mikey met Ashley who later became his wife and they had two beautiful twin girls. Mikey was a devoted father to his little girls Katerina and Camila and his step-daughter Chloe. He would put them on his bike and ride with them to the park, they played together, they laughed together, they prayed together and they loved each other.
Mikey had many friends, he embraced brotherhood and always helped a friend in need. Mikey gifted many with love and he truly was a giving soul. And let us not forget his love for his dog, Chapo. Mikey was fearless, compassionate, and a genuine loving person. However, he had many losses in his life, but always strived to overcome them.
It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. For part of us went with you, and life will never be the same. You left us with all these wonderful memories that we will cherish forever.
