Thank you, Michelle, for your kindness and generosity of spirit. You were a one-of-a-kind poet and editor, so brilliant. You left us much too soon, but the memory of you will remain with us always.

Pearl and other family members, we grieve with you in the loss of our beloved Michelle. She and I had a special poetic relationship as collaborators. From that sonata-styled creating, we became dear friends. 

Michelle spoke often of her love for you. I only hope that those of us with whom Michelle shared great friendship can offer  comfort for you and other family members. I know you must be very proud of Michelle's accomplishments as an editor and poet. She was amazing, treasured, cherished.

You, my love, are the epitome of poetic beauty, both inside and out. You will be missed more than words could possible describe. No more pain, no more suffering - only peace and comfort. I love you.

Michelle, a shining light a bright poetic voice never to be extinguished, you are now safe from this world of pain, rest now within the loving arms of God and the angels.

Yesterday I looked back on our chats. The first was in March of 2012. It's hard to believe the reams and reams of words. Yet it always felt like it was not enough. Rest Sweet Girl, my lil, lil cousin. That is the name we decided to call you. May you be in a better place and may the family be spared further sorrow.
