Rita was a resident of Aventura, Florida.

She is survived by her husband, Gil Rubio, and her son, Gil Jose Rubio. She is also survived by her sister, Linda Mae Flora (John), her nephews, Nicholas Flora and Eric Flora, and her nieces, Skylar Heslin and Kayley Heslin.
