

Born on September 15, 1935 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boston, MA. He was the son of late Dr. Dominic Staffier and late Helen Johnston of East Boston, MA. In addition to his wife Sally-Ann, Thomas is survived by sons Thomas and wife Jolene of Florida, Paul of New Hampshire, late Christopher of New Jersey, John and wife late Susan of Massachusetts, late James of Massachusetts ,David and wife Dee of Rhode Island; His daughters, Laura and husband Sam Roukas of Massachusetts, late Susan and husband Jeff Cummings of Massachusetts; his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren:
brothers to late Paul and his wife Linda, Edward and his wife late AnnMarie , and John (Jay) and his wife Ellen along with many nieces and nephews.
Thomas graduated from Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA in the class of 1958 as an accounting major. He was also a veteran in the Army Reserves.
Thomas went on to become vice president of sales in the textile industry at the George C. Moore Company in Westerly, RI. He stayed in contact with many of his co-workers and would visit them during his travels back to Florida.
Thomas was affectionately called “Pita” by his family. He was always teasing and joking with everyone he knew. Some of his favorite pastimes were golf, bowling, and watching horse racing and dog racing at the local track. Thomas enjoyed great food and great music from his generation. Thomas loved playing card games and his favorite game was Sudoku. He loved spending time with his family and friends, especially in New Hampshire on Lake Winnisquam, where he owned a cottage. It was a family tradition that his mother and father started, and they would enjoy the Summers with family and close friends. Thomas was like the Pied Piper with children who vacationed at his lakeside cottage and they would all call him Papa. Every day at 1:00 pm he would play Texas Holdem with the children and give them candy.
Thomas will be missed by many.

His memorial mass will be in Rhode Island at St. Jude's Church in Lincoln, RI and the burial will take place at St. Mary's Cemetery in Pawtucket, RI on a date that is to-be-determined
