

Almeta McNeil was born December 10,1918 in Thomasville, GA. Her parents, Jim and Emma James preceded her in death. She was the second of six children born of that union. She is survived by two sisters, Irene Jackson and Forence Strozer of Thomasville, GA.
She accepted Christ at an early age. She loved the Lord and where she worshiped, she served. Almeta was a good friend and a peaceful lovable woman. She has touched the lives of many people and her memories will be forever cherished.
Who can find a virtuous wife? Jeff Hunter found a virtuous woman and married her on February 10, 1951. They later moved to Miami from Thomasville in the early 60's. She loved and provided for her household. From that union she is survived by her step-children: Frankie Tims, Mary Barney, Simon Hunter, Henrietta Crumity, and Lottie Hicks. Her first husband preceded her in death the late 60's.
As a single parent, Almeta was committed to her family. Her faith in God grew stronger as she grew older. She met and fell in love with John McNeil. They married in 1969. She was a loving wife, and a constant friend.
Almeta was a faithful member of Pilgrim Rest for over 30 years. She joined on November 18, 1971. She worked while it was day in her life and served on several auxiliaries in the church. She sang in the choir, was an usher, served on the Pastor's Aide Club, and a member of the Mother's board. She diligently sought the Lord in Sunday School, weekly prayer meetings, and bible study.
To cherish her memories, she leaves a devoted son; Carlton Hunter (V. Denise): Grandchildren; Carlton Hunter, Jr.(Shawnita), Kalinda hunter, Crystal Price(Kevin), Mark and Kendra Roper: Great Grandchildren; Khalil, Khari, Kaleab, Aaliyah, Britney, Christina, Victoria and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
