Armando Ignacio Guzmán, 92, passed away peacefully at his home on July 3, 2020. Armando was born on February 2, 1928, in the Dominican Republic to Ramon and Antonia (Olivares) Guzmán. He then moved to Venezuela where he met and married the love of his life, Maria Elisa Castillo, before eventually settling in New York City where he built a successful real-estate business. A lover of classical music, boleros, and the New York Yankees, he was highly devoted to his family, both near and far, and treasured the time he had with them. In addition to his wife of 64 years, he is survived by his children Christian (Sheilah), Tibisay (Paul); grandchildren Daniel, Alexa (Zackary), Jonathan and Christian (Stacey); and his many nieces and nephews. He truly lived life to the fullest and will be tremendously missed by his family and friends.
A memorial service will be held on a future date at Trinity Church Cemetery and Mausoleum in Manhattan, New York.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Armando’s memory to The Arc Westchester, at www.arcwestchester.org, an organization dedicated to the support of children and adults with developmental disabilities.

Armando nació el 2 de febrero de 1928 en La República Dominicana, hijo de Ramón y Antonia (Olivares) Guzmán. Luego se mudó a Venezuela, donde conoció y se casó con el amor de su vida, María Elisa Castillo antes de establecerse en la ciudad de Nueva York, donde construyó un exitoso negocio inmobiliario. Amante de la música clásica, los boleros y los Yankees de Nueva York, era muy devoto de su familia, tanto la cercana como la lejana, y atesoraba el tiempo que pasaba con ellos. Además de Maria Elisa, su esposa por 64 años, le sobreviven sus hijos Christian (Sheilah), Tibisay (Paul); nietos Daniel, Alexa (Zackary), Jonathan y Christian (Stacey); y sus muchas sobrinas y sobrinos. Realmente vivió la vida al máximo y su familia y amigos lo extrañarán muchísimo.
