Bernice “Peggy” Henry was born in Panama City, Panama on January 10th, 1932 to the union of Maria and Walter Wood. She was the second of four children. Peggy grew up in Llano Bonito Panama in the district of Juan Diaz. As a young girl she learned the importance of hard work and perseverance. She graduated from high school at Escuela Professional and attended the University of Panama where she majored in accounting. Peggy was united in Holy matrimony to Vernal Henry On August 25th, 1953. Out of this union three amazing children were born. Peggy and Vernal were married for sixty-six beautiful years. Their love story was that of a fairytale as their love was felt by everyone who witnessed them together. In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Peggy served many years as an accountant for the U.S. government while simultaneously serving the community as a real estate agent. She retired from the Coast Guard June 21st, 1992 and traveled the world visiting loved ones and living life to the fullest. Peggy’s unwavering faith was as beautiful as the sunsets she often admired. She loved the Lord and always spoke of his goodness. She continually covered her loved ones in prayer and thoroughly enjoyed attending service and worshipping God with her husband. She was a fashionable woman whose beauty could light up any room. Peggy was a loyal friend who showered others with love and kindness. As a result of her generous spirit and fun-loving personality, she was loved by many. Peggy peacefully transitioned from this life on June 21st, 2020. She is preceded in death by her parents Maria and Walter Wood, sister Anita Gordon, and brother Frederico Wood. Her memory will forever be cherished in the lives of her devoted husband, Vernal; children: Alex Henry, Griselda Henry, and Anel Henry, sister, Elsa Wilsondebriano, 7 grandchildren: Alex Henry Jr., Alysha Johnson, Larry Perry, Eisha Henry, Skye Williams, Anel Henry Jr. and Ivan Henry;10 great grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Her legacy lives on through her children and everyone she impacted.
