

The Beautiful and Lovely, Marie Claire Delourde Lacroix, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and dear friend. She was born on October 9, 1945, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Her life was a testament to love, strength, and resilience.
Marie Claire was a pillar of strength. A remarkable woman who touched the lives of all who knew her. She was known for her warm smile, compassionate heart, and self-sacrificing spirit. Her love for her family and friends was endless, and she dedicated her life to providing them with a strong foundation of love and values with her wisdom.
As a young woman, she found the love of her life, Joseph Fleurime, and together they built a beautiful family. They raised 3 wonderful daughters, Marjorie Fleurime-Apollon, Rose May Fleurime-Louissaint, and Josette Fleurime-Etizard. Sowing in them the importance of education, hard work, and respect for others.
Marie Claire’s home was always open to family and friends, and she made sure that everyone felt welcomed and loved.
Marie Claire was a philanthropist of the Haitian community in her neighborhood, Aux Cayes. She delighted in cooking traditional Haitian meals. In fact, she was known for serving everyone generously leaving nothing for herself. She was best known to be loving yet unapologetically honest and readily available to give her unwavering source of support and guidance. Her heartfelt console will be cherished by all who received them.
Marie Claire loved and shared a special bond with her grandchildren; Jonathan Emmanuel, Daniel Emmanuel, Frederick Laforest, David Apollon and Jeffrey Etizard and great grandchildren; Ashten Noah Laforest, Hayvin Jolie Laforest, Ares Alan Laforest. She showered them with wise advice, affection and genuine love. Her memory will forever live on in their hearts.
Marie Claire passed away peacefully at home in the loving arms of her 3 daughters on September 14, 2023, at the tender age of 77. Marie Claire's legacy of love and strength will continue to inspire us all. She taught us the value of family, the importance of kindness, and the power of faith. Her memory will forever be cherished by her family and friends.
