Eliza M. Glover, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and faithful servant of God, peacefully transitioned from this life on May 20, 2025, at the age of 98. She was born on April 4, 1927, in Albany, Georgia, to the late Elijah Taylor and Missie Stewart. Raised in a Christian home by her father, a devoted minister and pastor, Eliza’s life was firmly rooted in faith, service, and family.
Eliza completed her primary education at Madison High School in Albany, Georgia. At just 16 years old, she courageously moved to Florida, where she would begin a new chapter that shaped the rest of her life. A dedicated member of the Brownsville Church of Christ for many years, Eliza remained committed to her spiritual journey until her health began to decline.
She was united in holy matrimony to the late Armie L. Glover, with whom she shared 57 beautiful years of marriage before his passing. Together, they worked various jobs throughout their lives, but Eliza found her greatest calling and fulfillment as a homemaker. She lovingly raised their three children, instilling in them the same values of faith, compassion, and strength that she carried throughout her life.
Eliza had a heart for others and a generous spirit. She found joy in sewing, often making clothes for friends and neighbors, and was well-known for her delicious cakes, which she lovingly prepared for church functions and special occasions. Always eager to serve, she frequently visited the sick and brought meals to those in need. Her favorite pastimes included going out to restaurants and playing spirited games of checkers with her family.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Armie L. Glover, her parents Elijah and Missie, all her siblings, and her son.
Eliza leaves to cherish her memory: her daughters, Sue Cochran-Jamison (Yaxley) and Cathy L. Walker (Ronald); grandchildren Kimberly Shane (Steven), Gerry Cochran, Antonio Cochran (Crystal), and Boc'Zak Pitts; great-grandchildren Evelyn Shane, Kaitlyn Shane, Antonio Cochran II, Aaliyah Cochran, Ariana Cochran, Anika Pitts, Trey Pitts, and Boc'Zak Pitts II; and a host of other loving family members and cherished friends.
Eliza’s life was a testament to faith, love, and resilience. She touched countless lives with her kindness and will be dearly missed but never forgotten.
