Early in life, Essie Pryor married Christopher McCray and borne two sons, Christopher McCray, Jr. and Gerald McCray. Later in life, Essie Pryor met and married her late husband, Samuel Elijah Pryor(Sam) and borne a son, Alton Nathaniel Pryor.
Essie had a very orderly way, always making sure that all was covered including the necessities such as life and health insurances. Essie dedicated her life to her three sons, making sure that she served as a fine mother giving her sons the best life she could. She especially taught each of them to be kind, peaceful, courteous, humble and loving. She also served as an especially outstanding wife to Sam, supporting his private construction business as she worked part-time at Veteran Hospital in order to cover the family under health insurance: Blue Cross/Blue Shield was her favorite choice(laugh). Yes, Essie was an especially wise woman who protected herself and her family.
Essie was a member of Mount Tabor Baptist Church and delighted in the visits, calls and prayers from Mount Tabor until her son, Alton Pryor with the agreement of Christopher and Gerald, relocated her to Hyattsville, Maryland in 2004.
On Tuesday, February 13, 2019, at 7:30 in the morning Essie slept away at home in her bedroom. God sent His angels to gently take her home to be with her Lord and Savior.
To cherish and honor her wonderful, amazing and loving memory, Essie leaves her loving three sons: Christopher McCray(Orlando, FL), Gerald McCray(Miami, FL) and Dr. Alton Pryor(Hyattsville, MD); three daughter-in-laws: Blessing Fubara(Ashburn, VA), Iola McCray(Miami, FL) and Rita McCray(Orlando, FL); a granddaughter: Phyllis McCray(Orlando, FL) a grandson: Cos Fi(Ashburn, VA); a brother-in-law: George L.
