Joyce Brooks

Joyce Brooks, a devoted mother and pillar of her family. Joyce passed away on February 7,2026, at the age of 92. Born on July 9th,1933, in Jamaica, she lived a life defined by love, care, strength, and quiet resilience. Joyce Married Hubert Brooks Sr. in 1974 at the age of 41 and together they built their family with love and dedication. At the age of 51, Joyce migrated to Miami, Florida, in 1984, where she devoted herself to caring for others as a Home Health Aide, retiring at the age of 70. Prior to her migration, she spent many years in Jamaica as a loving mother and homemaker, raising her children with discipline, compassion and unwavering devotion. Joyce and her husband raised four children, tragically losing a twin daughter in infancy. Her husband and one son predeceased her in Jamaica, and two other sons passed away in the United States. Despite enduring profound loss, Joyce remained strong in spirit and faith. In 2013, Joyce suffered a stroke and thereafter resided at Villa Maria Nursing Home, where she remained until passing on February 7,2026. Throughout remarkable resilience, courage, and grace. Her legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched through her kindness, perseverance, and love. She is survived by her beloved daughter Marcia, Son-in-Law Rahjaro, Her sisters Marjorie and Shirley, nieces Denise, Susan Paulette, Paulene, Gee; Grandniece Muff, Great Grandniece Makiyah; grandnephews, Carlton and Sheldon along with a host of family, friends and loved ones who will forever cherish her memory.

A visitation will be held at Caballero Rivero Southern, located at 15011 West Dixie Highway, North Miami, FL 33181, on February 20, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

The funeral service will take place at the same venue on February 21, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
