

Marie Dieudonne Alcime, born on December 15th, 1926, in La Pointe Port-de-Paix, Haiti, peacefully departed this life on June 16th, 2024. She was the cherished daughter of the late Justilien Saint-Remy and Suzanne Geffrard, and the tenth of fourteen beloved siblings.
In 1952, at the age of 26, Marie Dieudonne embarked on a lifelong journey with her beloved husband, Cenou Alcime, whom she married in love and devotion. Together, they were blessed with seven children: Marie Ginette, Benecte, Marie Claire, Carobert, Gilbert, Therese, and Inotha. Their union was fortified by their steadfast faith as devout members of The Church of Beraca in La Pointe, Haiti.
A woman of entrepreneurial spirit, Marie Dieudonne established and successfully operated a butchery in La Pointe, specializing in the preparation and sale of meat. Her culinary talents were matched only by her legendary generosity, as she extended her hand in providing meals to families in need throughout her community.
Following the passing of her beloved husband in 1990, Marie Dieudonne transitioned her home to Miami, Florida, where she resided among her children. Her life in Miami was defined by her unwavering faith as a dedicated member of Salem Baptist Church. There, she found solace and community, embodying the teachings of her faith through her selfless acts of support and encouragement for others. Her grandchildren were the joy of her later years, and she poured her love into caring for them with a devotion that mirrored her sacrificial nature.
Marie Dieudonne Alcime was revered for her deep faith in God, which guided her every action and decision. Her life was a testament to the values of compassion, humor, and amicability that endeared her to all who knew her. Known for her ability to bring joy to others through her entertaining spirit, she leaves behind a legacy of love and selflessness that will be cherished by her family and community for generations to come.
In her final journey home, Marie Dieudonne Alcime leaves a void in the hearts of those who were privileged to know her, yet her spirit lives on in the memories of her enduring kindness and the lessons of faith she imparted to all who crossed her path.
