Marie Noeline “Liline” Forges entered the world on January 12, 1940, in the picturesque town of Port-Salut, nestled in the southern region of Haiti. Born to Vesta Daniel and Romanes Denis, she was the youngest among three daughters and the sole one born in Haiti.
Her educational journey commenced at Immaculée Conception des Soeurs, where she completed her primary schooling before pursuing further studies at L’ecole Normale aux Gabion. Returning to her roots after her education, she embarked on her teaching career in Port-Salut at the girls' school, “Immaculée Conception des Soeurs”.
In the course of her life, she found love and companionship in Pierre “Lolo” Forges, with whom she shared over six decades of marriage and the blessing of seven children. Seeking opportunities for her family, she ventured from Haiti to Paris, France, and later to the United States, where she initially advocated for Haitian migrants as a social worker with the Haitian American Community Association of Dade (H.A.C.A.D). However, her passion for education eventually led her back to the classroom, where she became known affectionately as “Teacher Marie”, teaching Pre-K and Kindergarten with boundless love and dedication.
Marie Noeline “Liline” (Teacher Marie) cherished her family above all, finding her greatest achievements in her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy and pride. She will forever remain in the hearts of her loving children
