Born in Haiti (Trou du Nord) on March 31, 1931, to Argentina Lambert and Méda Samson. At 11 years old, Marie Lambert went to join her older brother in Cap-Haitian, where she completed her elementary and middle school education. At the age of 17, she dropped out of high school and began working, selling in a French family's store. She spent 40 years working as an entrepreneur. At the age of 58, she left Cape-Haitian, Haiti, to go live with her niece in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. She lived with her for a period of 23 years.
In 2006, at the invitation of her living relatives in the USA, she made her first visit, followed by several others. In 2012, at the age of 80, her family in Miami asked her to live with them because of the earthquake that took place in 2010, which shook the Haitian capital. Since she had no children because she was never married, she agreed. Nonetheless, she has two adopted daughters: Lynda Charles and Jeanne Samson, her niece. She presented a large number of goods to the baptismal fund and helped many people (children, young people, old people, and sick people) whom she encountered on her path in her ministry.
After a short time of being sick, beginning in January, she succumbed and died on the evening of March 23, 2024. Condolences to her two daughters Lynda Charles and Jeanne Samson, to her adopted sister and compadre/best friend Rose Lutane Geffrard, and to her nephews and nieces Jesula Samson Rock, James Rock, Yeshua Rock, Josette, Wanda, Yvanne, and Junior Catabois. Joann Petit, Jai'Yana, and Jomar Saint-Hilaire. Fabris and Patris Charles, Guy Geffrard, Ronal, John, and Johane. Jacqueline Sanon, Romie, Kiki, Michèle Sanon, and Elucia Sanon. To the Samson family: Geurda Samson, Serge Samson, and his family: Katy, Esther, Gras, Ruth, and Emmanuel Samson. Lambert family: Yanne, Fifi, Love, Kettly, and Philomène. Edouard family: Antoine Duché, John Weber, Dorothy, Kettleen D., and Dantes Jordan. Séraphin family, other close family members, and friends that we have not mentioned.
Our sincere condolences go out to the members of her congregation and her ministry. She led a quiet life, at peace with everyone; spreading joy to everyone, she met along the way. She left an imprint on all who knew her with an example of modesty and humility. Many desired to be around her warm and gentle presence. May her soul rest in eternal peace!
