Born June 15, 1939 in Cartier Morin, Haiti, to Adelle Rose Pierre and Durand Pierre-Louis, she was the second of several siblings. Marie-Therese completed her primary education at l’École Nationale de Cartier Morin and worked in various roles before moving to Nassau, Bahamas in 1975. In 1986, she settled in Miami, Florida, and worked as a housekeeper at Costa Del Sol Hotel in Fort Lauderdale until her retirement.
Her life changed when Sr. Odette Laneau invited her to church, where she accepted Christ and was baptized at Emmanuel Baptist Church. A devoted member, she actively served in groups such as Dame Missionaire and L’Hôpital Par La Foi, remaining faithful until her passing.
Marie-Therese’s greatest pride was her family. She cherished her only daughter Yolette St. Preux, adored her granddaughter Angie Loubeau, and found complete joy in her great-grandchildren Layla and Arel. Known for her generosity, radiant smile, and vibrant spirit, she loved cooking, traveling, and being surrounded by loved ones.
She was predeceased by her parents and siblings Noce, Odile, and Cleomene. Though she has left this world, her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on.
She is survived by her daughter Yolette (Daniel St. Preux), granddaughter Angie (Yardley Loubeau), great-grandchildren Layla and Arel, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly. Her memory will also be cherished by her church family and dearest friends, including Sr. Lourdes, the Milforts, Mrs. Innocent, Sr. Delva, and Sr. Jose Marthe.
Marie-Therese will be remembered for her faith, her warmth, her meticulous care, and above all, her deep love for her family.
