In Loving Memory of Marilyn Flores
Marilyn Flores, born on September 13, 1956, in New Jersey to Rosa E. Maldonado and Hilario Flores, lived a life defined by compassion, generosity, and unwavering love. From an early age, Marilyn carried within her a nurturing spirit that would go on to shape not only her career, but the countless lives she touched along the way. As a devoted nurse, Marilyn dedicated her life to caring for others. She was more than a medical professional — she was a source of comfort, reassurance, and hope to every patient who crossed her path. Her gentle hands and warm smile had a way of easing fears, and she treated every person with dignity, kindness, and respect. Nursing was not just her profession; it was her calling. Outside of her work, Marilyn’s heart knew no limits. She opened her home to family, friends, and anyone in need, creating a space filled with warmth, laughter, and unconditional love. Her door was always open, her table always welcoming, and her embrace always ready. She had a rare gift for making people feel seen, valued, and cared for. Marilyn was preceded in death by her beloved mother, Rosa E. Maldonado; her father, Hilario Flores; and her husband, Osvaldo Irizarry. She is survived by her loving children: Daniel (Lisa) Mercado of Miami, FL; Christina (Brianna) Irizarry-Edwards of Hinesville, GA; and Jennifer (Dominique) Irizarry-Pierre of St. Cloud, FL. She is also survived by her cherished siblings: Angel Flores of California; Jose (Hilda) Flores of St. Cloud, FL; and Daisy (Wanda) Flores of St. Cloud, FL. Marilyn was a proud and devoted grandmother to eight grandchildren and a loving great-grandmother to seven great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride. Marilyn’s legacy of love, strength, and compassion lives on through her family and through all the lives she touched. Her kindness and selflessness left a lasting impact on everyone fortunate enough to know her. She will be deeply missed, forever cherished, and lovingly remembered.
