born in Red Bay, Florida, was raised and lived in Columbus, Georgia until he joined the Naval Service in 1944, serving his
military career here at Masters Field, now known as Opa Locka Airport. After discharge from the Navy, he was employed by
Southern Bell Telephone Company for 38 years before retiring in 1982. Marion was an active Telephone Pioneer working on many \community service projects including the Talking Books Program. Marion is preceded in death by his late wife, Leona Lee Day and daughter, Joni Lee Day. He is survived by his wife Hazel L. Day, two step-daughters, Gloria B. Hagood and Stephanie B. Mays, several nieces and nephews in Florida and Georgia. A Memorial Service will be held Friday, September 27, 2013, 1:00 PM. at Poinciana United Methodist Church, 300 North Royal Poinciana Blvd., Miami Springs, Florida, 33166.
