Mercedes attended Arts High in Newark and attended the local college. Mercedes worked in the shipping lines industry at the Port of Newark.

Mercedes married her highschool sweetheart Sal Sanchez September 03, 1972 and had her first born Sal Sanchez Jr. on January 16, 1974.

Mercedes was known for dressing glamorously, her fancy jewelry, her beautiful makeup, and making sure her hair was always done. Mercedes would not leave her house without her makeup being done. Mercedes loved to have fun and knew how to have fun with her family and friends. Mercedes was an animal lover and loved to go shopping.

Mercedes C Sanchez was known as many things to many people. She was a loved one, a friend, and someone special. To family and friends who knew her best, Mercedes will be remembered as a very exceptional person.

Simply stated, Mercedes was a good and kind person, an individual who will for all time be remembered by her family and friends as being a caring and giving person, someone who was a vital part of their lives. Mercedes leaves behind her a legacy of life-long friendships and many cherished memories.
