Miralda Bruno was born in Croix des Bouquets, Haiti on March 8th, 1932, from the late mother Therèse Bruno and Father Orel Pauyo. She was the first of four siblings and the last survivor. She did her primary education at Charlotin Marcadieu. Due to her mother’s financial difficulties, she could not further her secondary education.
She almost spent her adolescence helping her mother in the business of buying and selling goods. When she reached her adult age, she moved away from the house and found her first job as launderer.
She had two children, Wilner Théagène (Nènè) and Marie Simone Pauyo. Dada was a very generous person. She enjoyed sharing the few she had with other people.
Her daughter Simone, benefitted greatly from her generosity when she joined the Seventh-day Adventist University of Diquini, Haiti, for her secondary education. Which made her spend less time with Dada, but she could not wait for her daughter to come back from vacation to share her favorite dish (Sweet potato and fish) then handed her the money that she had saved during her absence.
Dada expressed her love with great sacrifices. Even though life was like survival, she was willing to overcome any obstacles to please her children. She believed in success, which she demonstrated in the selling of the only cow she had to help Simone to travel to Puerto Rico for higher education at Antillian College, Adventist University.
Dada entered in the United States in 1983, she accepted the Adventist message in the late 90’s and got baptized at Eden SDA Church Miami, Florida. Few years after, she developed severe Osteoarthritis, which caused her to be wheelchair bound, then diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. She passed away after more than twenty years at Villa Maria Nursing Home on May 5th, 2026.
