

She attended the Mount Herman Baptist School during her early years and later continuing high school education in Kingston, Jamaica. After high school she completed a business administration program preparing her for future employment with IBM and the Banana Board in Jamaica. In 1980, she and her family relocated to Miami, Florida. Here, Myrtle earned a Home Healthcare certificate. The program prepared her for employment in the healthcare field until her retirement in 1991.
She was united in holy matrimony to Frank Foster. Their union was blessed with three sons, David, Boris and Franklyn. She was a devoted, loving mother and grandmother, as well as a mentor and friend.
Survivors include sons, David Foster (Debra); Boris Foster (Perside) and Franklyn Foster; granddaughters, Maya Foster, Melanie Foster and Jessica Foster; one grandson, Marshall Foster (Ellen); one sister, Lena Simpson Brown and one sister-in-law, Veronica Simpson. Her brothers Vincent Simpson, Oswald Simpson, Clarence Simpson, Victor Simpson and Alvin Simpson preceded her in death. Affectionately known as “Aunt Myrtle” to her eight nieces, Gloria Griffith, Beverly Francis, Karen Barker, Jennifer Simplice, Jacqueline DeSouza, Ruth Simpson, Fayann Simpson, Erica Brown; and seven nephews, Conroy Simpson, David Simpson, Roger Simpson, Stephen Simpson, Mark Simpson, Corey Brown and Evreth Swaby. She also leaves to mourn her passing two special long-time friends, Vilma Lindo and Jaffe Cooper.
