Her Life Story
Myrtle Ursula George was born on September 29, 1940 to Alphonso George and Violet Bellot, in the capital city of Roseau on the Nature Island of Dominica WI. Myrtle was the youngest of two for her mother and the second to last of four for her father. As a child and throughout her life she has always been very outgoing. In search of employment, she moved to Antigua in 1963, where she lived for 17 years. From Antigua, Myrtle decided to move to Miami where she lived ever since.
Myrtle was a devoted mother to Lynn Robin and Stevenson Christian. They were the apple of her eyes, her pride and joy and she proudly doted on them. After retiring, Myrtle spent her days devoted to the Lord, her family, and friends. Blessed with a sweet spirit, and pleasant personality, she made friends wherever she went. Myrtle was a true friend to all, she spoke with her sisters daily and called friends regularly, to say hello and just to remind them she was thinking of them. When she didn’t and couldn’t call; you were always in her heart. The next call or conversation picked up right where you left off – never skipping a beat. Myrtle was full of joy and always eager to help, no matter what the problem was, nor did she ever turn anyone away – be it family, or friends, wanting to stop by the house for a quick chat or meal.
In addition to her unmeasurable love for her family and friends; she enjoyed spending time with them, traveling, playing bingo and “hot footing”. Depending on the time of day you called – she would say “I’m going hot footing, no reason to sit around”. She lived life to the fullest, and always with a smile on her face.
It was on June 22, 2018, that Myrtle took her final trip to be with her Lord and Savior. She leaves behind her sisters, Editha, Cecilia and Genora. Her children, Lynn and Stevenson, her precious grandchildren Kelyna (her Punkie), Rayvon, Sheldon, and her only great grandchild Kemora. She also leaves a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, adopted children, grandchildren, and friends, with a lifetime of precious memories. She will always be in our hearts.
