Orlando was born in the Bronx, NY on March 16, 1966. The family has since lived in Miami, FLorida, from 1977 to present. He was honorably discharged from the USAF in 1987 as a Medical Service Specialist/Paramedic. Orlando passionately continued working in the same capacity as a civilian in S Florida until receiving AA degrees in Pre-Med and Nursing at Miami-Dade College, 2008. From 1999- 2020 he worked variously and tirelessly as a Critical Care Operations Manager, Home Healthcare Nurse; but overwhelmingly as a Critical Care Unit Nurse specializing in Advanced Cardiac Life Support, CVICU/ICU/CCU/Neuro/Renal. Orlando became a travel RN in 2020 for ICU COVID Units in the states of NY, CA and TX. At the time of his passing he was a long-standing, “adored” ICU nurse at Delray Medical Center, FL.
Orlando was highly jovial, very gregarious and profoundly loving. He was enigmatically dedicated with a seeming superhuman work ethic to career long night shift emergency and ICU nursing. This challenged his equally strong capacity, drive and desire as family man, and culminated in a legendary legacy as an emergency medicine healer. Orlando’s is a hugely magnanimous soul whose life, like a comet streak, will be terribly missed by patients, coworkers, and family.
RIP Beloved Orlando-
