Preceded by his father and mother Theodore and Martha Kretzschmar; his older brother Paul; his older sister Virgina and his wife of 62 years Barbara Joan. He is survived by his daughter Debby, granddaughter Shana and great-granddaughter Mia, granddaughter Krista and husband Chris and great-grandchildren Jack and Emilia and by his son Robert Jr. his wife Tami, grandson Robert III and granddaughter Katherine Ann and also his brother and sister Ted and Nancy.
Bob lived by the precept that "a stranger is just someone you haven't met yet" . . . Bob loved life.
Bob grew up in the "Little River" area of Miami, graduated from Miami Edison HS and was a proud "Red Raider" and stayed involved in the Edison "Over the Hill Gang" for many years. He attended UM briefly on an athletic scholarship. He Married his High School sweetheart, Barbara Joan Wetherington for which he remained married to for 62 years. He enlisting in the US Air Force in 1950, which he cherished his service to this Country. He became a Miami-Dade Police Office, acquired an associate's degree in Police Science and Criminology from at that time Miami-Dade Jr. College North Campus and work at the Dade County Docks / Dodge Island for many years, he loved police work. He worked in the Under Ground Utility Construction business for many years, and worked briefly as a substitute teacher in Lake Placid, FL at the elementary level where he started an annual archeological field trip.
He was a Blue Lodge Mason, Village Lodge #315 and a Mahi Shriners
Bob was involved with the North Dade Optimist Club as a Coach for many years. He was a devote Christian, and was involved with many Churches through his life, Churches where he "Felt the Spirit". He was involved with the Via de Cristo Group and was a Rector for several of the weekends.
Bob and Joan retired to Lake Placid, Fl in the late 90's
Following the burial there will be a " Celebration of Life" at the Miami Shores Country Club.
