My name now is Donna Fuerman.  Mrs. Caputo was my 3rd grade teacher in 1953 or 1954.  My name then was Donna Holden.  I am 77 years old now but Iremember Mrs. Caputo as being my favorite teacher ever.  She was kind, nurturing , honest, fair, funny and really loved teaching us.  
I remember one time and it was the only time ever that we were passing our spelling papers up to the front of the class and when a paper came across my desk to pass to forward, I saw on my paper  I had and misspelled the worf oh so I changed it to the correct one that I saw on the paper. I couldn’t sleep that night. I felt so bad so I told Mrs. Caputo  what  I had done the next day. She told me it was OK that being honest is the best thing to do and gave me a big hug. I really loved her. I have been searching for her unsuccessfully for a few years now.
And sadly just came across her obituary. I always wanted to meet up with her again as an adult. I live in Brevard County Florida now just three hours from where she lived. I grew up in North Miami Beach. I just want you to know what an impression she made on me as a little third grade girl I adored her and can still remember, hugging her around her waist and her hugging me back. You had a beautiful, beautiful life with your sweet mom and grandma.  How blessed you were.

Not a day goes by that I don’t think about you. Hope your resting easy and you Joe and dad are together. I can’t believe it’s 2 years already. And it hurts like crazy. I know you guys were looking out for me when I went to the hospital. I love you more than you ever could imagine. Always have always will. Rest easy sweet lady. 

My dad sure said it all. I miss you so much. I know you weren’t my mother but you were the best grandmother anyone could have. I’m glad you are resting easy. I love you always have always will. I always felt closer to you than my mother. We helped each other throughout the years. Thank you for everything you did for me and my family. Rest In Peace sweet lady. 

My first mothers day without you. sure miss you. I know you are resting peacefully. you were the best mom a guy could hope for.

Grandma Christmas sure wasn’t the same without you. I missed hearing your elephant story. I love you so much. I hope you and Joe are taking care of each other. I miss you both so much. Hope your resting easy sweet lady. Not a day goes by I don’t think of you. You were and amazing woman and the best grandmother anyone could ask for. Just know you will always be in my heart.

So many memories from my summers in Florida.  I remember you telling me to watch the birdie outside the window while you attempted to brush my long, tangled hair.  

I know the rest of the family above are celebrating you, and planning on a nice Italian Sunday Dinner.

Great Grandma, 
You were one incredible person. You shined with so much brightness and had a special place for everyone in your heart. You taught me so much over the years. I remember the first school project I worked with you on. 4th grade and about family history . You were so happy to show me all the documents you saved over the years and about your husband Nick. I still remember how happy you were when I opened my first bank account and would call me all the time to make sure I was saving. My favorite story is the one you would tell me about the elephants. How you were so excited when I told you they were my favorite animal too and told me the story of how you fell in love with them. There won’t be a day that goes by that I don’t miss you. I hope you are in heaven with dad watching over this family everyday because without you guys it’s hard. I love and miss you both everyday .

I love you with all my heart and miss you every day. I miss taking you to fruitopia and Lorenzos to our Goodwill trips because “only a FOOL can pay full price” to listening to your stories even if I heard it a million times but just seeing the joy and happiness in your eyes when you told me was worth hearing a million times more. I have never met a person with a pure heart and soul like yours. You gave light to my life while being here on this earth and I know you will continue to be my light from above.
