I want to first of all extend my gratitude to all our family, friends, and attendees who have come today to honor this great man of courage, Mr. Tercion SainFleur, a person whom we have all come to love and cherish for many years. The amount of people today who have shown up to pay their final respects is truly a testimony to the many lives that he has personally touched.
Tercion was a family man. He loved his family very much. He was a hard worker. He worked at various jobs just to take care of his family. No job was to big or small when it came to feeding and taking care of his family. Frere Te’s family meant everything to him, he would protect them at all cost. Frere Te was not only a great dad, but he was a great friend as well. He was reliable, trustworthy and he would take time to listen to us. As a dad, he can keep a secret. If you told him anything in secret, it would stay between you and him.
My dad was a comedian, he can always find a way to make you laugh. No matter what you were going through, he always had a joke. He was funny and was also full of wisdom. He will turn that frown into a smile by the time you left him. His presence and his smile was infectious. You would often want to be around him. We will miss him dearly. Those precious moments we spent together will never be forgotten.
Furthermore, he had a variety of roles and the many hats he wore were father, husband, brother, uncle, grandpa, mentor, and a great friend. But I have been privileged to know him as simply daddy. We would call him papa petite & he would call me mama petit. He was my protector, my defender, my confident, my friend. He loved his girls and his girls loved him just the same. Daddy was a humble, gentle and sweet soul. My dad was a loving, caring and sensitive dad. When we hurt, he was hurt as well. When we cried, he cried as well. When we were happy he was ecstatic because our happiness was his joy. He would give anything to see us smile. That was my daddy. When you lose someone you love, such as Daddy, you realize it’s not the big thing that matters but it’s the little things such as a smile, a touch, or a just a few simple words I love you, that matters. Those are the memories you hold onto that gives you strength to carry on.
Tercion SainFleur was born to Telucia Raymond and Esteem Sainfleur on June 22 1941, in Saint Louise du-Nord, Haiti. On Sunday February 7, 2021, after years of debilitating diseases and years of suffering, his master called him home to rest. That was just two months after losing his loving wife Anne Sainfleur (deceased). Although we were not ready to let him go, but we could not keep him with us much longer. We love him very much, but his Creator knows best. He will be missed and will forever remain in our hearts.
Frere Ter is gone but not forgotten, leaving our hears broken and shattered. He was and will always be loved by his family.
