Anthony Reid Zmistowski

Anthony Reid Zmistowski, 79, of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, passed away on August 31, 2026. A funeral service to celebrate his life will take place on October 3, 2026, at First Presbyterian Church of North Palm Beach, Florida, at 11:00 a.m.

Tony was born in Savannah, Georgia, on November 21, 1946, to Billy and Joan (née Reid) Zmistowski. He was their second son, growing up with older brother, Bill, and younger brother, Michael. Tony was raised in a family of golfers, and he began playing the game he loved at a young age. He was a member of the varsity golf team at Forest Hill High School in West Palm Beach, Florida, and played in many golf tournaments as an adolescent and young adult. He was proud to have made several holes-in-one, played a round of golf with Arnold Palmer, volunteered as a marshal for the Honda Classic at PGA National, and had the joy of attending the Masters Tournament in August, Georgia, seventeen times.

While attending Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida, Tony was introduced by mutual friends to Marthann. They dated while in college and got married on June 20, 1970. Tony spent 1971 serving as a member of the United States Air Force in Vietnam. When he completed his time in the Air Force, Tony and Marthann bought a home in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He then began his new career as a travel agent at Royal Poinciana Travel in Palm Beach, Florida. ‘Tony Travel’ was booking trips and cruises for family, friends, and clients until 2025. Tony and Marthann loved traveling and visited every continent except for Antarctica.

In addition to golf and traveling, Tony had a very active church life. In 1972, he became a dedicated member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He served on a number of church committees, enjoyed a variety of Bible study classes, sang in the choir, and cooked many pancake breakfasts. In 2021, Tony and Marthann joined First Presbyterian Church of North Palm Beach, Florida. There, he loved volunteering in the church office and packing lunches on Tuesday mornings for the St. George Table feeding program. He also spent several decades as a member of the Board of Directors for Christians Reaching Out to Society, Inc. (CROS Ministries). With CROS Ministries, Tony and Marthann went gleaning at local farms, hosted camp counselors, and had fun working at the summer camps.

Tony is survived by the ‘love of his life’ and wife of 56 years, Marthann (née Downing) Zmistowski, children: Amy Zmistowski and Deborah Fisher (Eric), and grandchildren: Stella Fisher and Odin Fisher.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Christians Reaching Out to Society, Inc. (CROS Ministries) in Lake Worth Beach, Florida.

Family and friends are invited to attend Tony’s celebration of life at First Presbyterian Church of North Palm Beach, Florida, at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2026. A reception in the Fellowship Hall will follow the service.
