Barbara Jean Bereschak

The daughter of Michael John and Frances M. Sczesny of Elizabeth, NJ, sister of Jayne Caffrey [Sczesny] and Michael Sczesny, Barbara dedicated her life to education.

A graduate of Keane College with a BA in Elementary Education and MA in Reading, Barbara’s work as an elementary teacher and reading specialist touched, changed, and inspired countless children’s lives. She filled her classrooms with laughter, curiosity, and hands-on learning. Barbara fulfilled this passion through tutoring students in the weeks before her passing.

Married to Nicholas J. Bereschak of Elizabeth, NJ for 54 years, Nick and Barb built a beautiful, adventure-filled life together that they shared with their two daughters, Alison Bereschak of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, and Amy Olsen of St. Louis, MO.

Survived by her granddaughters, Marley Kay Massey, Norah Claire Massey, Annabelle Frances Olsen and Piper James Olsen, Gammie’s love-out-loud spirit will live through them.

Services for Barbara are planned for Monday, June 8th at the Howard-Quattlebaum Funeral Home in North Palm Beach, FL. Viewing begins at 3pm, service at 4pm, followed by a Happy Hour at 5pm at Lucky Shuck’s on the Jupiter Waterway.

Barbara would not have wanted anyone in black - so please dress in the spirit of celebration for a life well lived.
