Barbara J. Doherty

Barbara is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, James Patrick Doherty, their three children Michael Doherty, Kathleen Schry, and Steven Doherty, her sister, Carole Malcolm, and three grandchildren, Amie Newins, Scott Schry and Emma Brown Doherty, her son-in-law Robert Schry, and daughters-in-law Marina Doherty and Sydney Prince Doherty.

Barbara was born to Charlotte and Herbert Goebel in Oak Park, Illinois on March 13, 1937. She married Jim on July 6, 1957, in Oak Park, where their three children were born. Their family lived in Chicago, Milwaukee, Jacksonville Florida and Valdosta Georgia, and Wenatchee Washington, before retiring in Palm Beach Gardens.

Barbara liked to golf, sew, and knit prayer shawls. She loved to travel with her husband and visit with her family. She also enjoyed tending to her gardens, playing games with family, and completing crossword puzzles and Sudoku.

A visitation honoring Barbara will be held at Howard-Quattlebaum Funeral, Cremation and Event Center, 754 US Hwy 1, North Palm Beach from 2:00-4:00pm on Sunday, July 16.

A Mass of the Resurrection will be at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, 10970 Jack Nicklaus Dr., North Palm Beach at 10:00am on Monday, July 17 with a reception at the church to follow.
