Palm Beach, Hidden Key
Barbara Kernan Lindsay, 89, who made her home in Palm Beach for 53 years, passed away peacefully August 23 surrounded by her family. Barbara was born on January 4, 1929 in New York, NY to parents Dr. Francis Morgan Kernan and Florence Joyce Glover. She attended Hunter College High School in NYC and University of Nevada in Reno. She and her husband of 68 years, Alan Lindsay, and their four children Donald, Bobbie, Richard and Jane, moved to Palm Beach in 1961. She will be fondly remembered and much missed by her husband, four children and two grandchildren, James Spencer Scott and John Lindsay Buck.
Barbara was an adventurous woman. She was a recreational pilot who explored Florida in the late 1950s and early 1960s in her own airplane, as well as a boater, diver and an avid skier and mountain hiker. She is much appreciated by her family for introducing them to Sun Valley, Idaho, where they enjoyed a second home for many years. Barbara was a master gardener, a lover of animals and always happiest experiencing the natural world first hand.
