Cindy L. DeFilippo

Cindy grew up in Knoxville, TN before moving to Florida and graduating from John I. Leonard High School in 1982. Cindy married her loving husband Anthony in 1989 and they started their lives together. She was an employee of Palm Beach County for 32 years where she was blessed with the opportunity to touch many lives. In 2012, she graduated with her Associate’s Degree from PBSC. Cindy was instrumental in the operation and growth of the Edna W. Runner Tutorial Center where she and her children spent numerous hours working. Cindy loved people and loved to spend time with many charities and organizations with Limestone Creek and the Coalition for Wounded Warriors being two she held especially dear. Cindy was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church. She was an avid reader and loved the yearly trips to the keys with her family. She always found time to spend with her family fishing, boating, shelling, and even hunting shark teeth on the west coast. Despite her numerous accomplishments her children were her proudest. Cindy lived for her two children who were her life, pride, and joy, and she let everyone know.

Survived by her husband Anthony DeFilippo; her children Nicholas (22) and Anastacia (19) Fort Myers (FGCU); her mother Sylvia and Roger Poindexter; her father Bob and Linda Levy; her sister Laura and Scott Kaczor and their two children Lea and Matthew; her in-laws Al and Fran DeFilippo; her brother in-law Al and Kim DeFilippo and their children Julia and Teresa; her brother in-law Duane and Lynn DeFilippo and their children Ryan and Brandon; and her beloved dog Sam. Cindy also leaves behind countless friends and family. Preceded in death by her grandparents Bea and Arthur Levy and Philip and Edna Rising, and Uncle Jerry Levy.

A visitation will be held on Friday, June 19 from 5:00-7:00pm at Howard-Quattlebaum Funeral, Cremation and Event Center, 754 U.S. Highway 1, North Palm Beach, FL 33408. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday June 20 at 10:00am at St. Jude Catholic Church of Tequesta, 204 N U.S. Highway 1, Tequesta, FL 33469. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park in Tequesta, FL. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Edna W.
