
“Born too late to be a cowboy”
Daniel “Dan” A. Zwicker passed away peacefully on August 1, 2024. Born in Louisville, KY while on a family trip, Dan was the son of Robert E. and Vera Zwicker.
Growing up, Dan enjoyed an idyllic native Florida life from Miami to the back bays of Naples. He spent free time on the Naples Pier, back bays and the Gulf/10,000 Islands. He was an outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing best of all. He was a collector of nostalgia, books and Florida history and folklore.When he received the call, he enlisted in the Navy and was trained as a Navy pilot. His first solo flight was in January ’69.
Dan graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in Industrial Management and Economics. After graduation and Navy service, Dan joined the corporate world. He became a successful corporate retail executive working throughout the Southern region. Later in life, Dan was a local business man prior to his retirement .
Dan is survived by the love of his life, wife, Donna; brother William (Kathy); brothers-in-law, Ron (Jonica), Kenneth as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a private remembrance at a later date. Dan’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
