David Paul Foley

David P. Foley age 78 of North Palm Beach, FL passed away February 23, 2010. He was born on September 2, 1931 to David Paul and Winifred Foley in Jersey City, NJ. He graduated from Butler High in NJ, after school he joined the U.S. Navy where he served with the 1st Air Squadron as an aircraft mechanic. David was stationed in Cuba and South Africa. Upon leaving the Navy in 1954 he married his love Jeanette, a Maryland farm girl who was one of eleven siblings. They resided in Butler, NJ and had their three children. In 1958 David joined the Butler Police Department and also worked as a volunteer fireman. He was awarded 2 commendations for saving lives and received many letters from residents thanking him for his caring and professional service.

In 1969 the family relocated to North Palm Beach, FL where he was retained for a short time by Pratt-Whitney as a security officer. In 1970 he went to work for Sears and in 1979 he started Dave Foley Appliance Service and was a fixture in the North Palm Beach community for 20 years. David was a member of the Knights of Columbus and served as Grand Knight for two years with the Santa Maria Council 4999. He built a home in North Carolina when he retired in 1991. David and Jeannette then spent their summers in the mountains and winters in Florida.

David leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife Jeannette, children; Winnie (Fernando) Pinhal, Cheryl (Jim) Atchison, Timothy (Rani) Foley, grandchildren; Brittney Shultz, Morgan Shultz, Natalie Pinhal, Rachel Atchison, Justin Atchison, Ashley Foley and Zachary Dooling. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends and his many brothers from the Santa Maria Council 4999.

The family will receive friends Friday February 26th from 6 pm to 8 pm at Howard-Price Funeral Home with a scripture service at 7:30 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday 11 am at St. Clare Catholic Church in North Palm Beach. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Hospice of Palm Beach County 5300 East Avenue West Palm Beach, FL 33407.
