I couldn't believe the message I received last Friday. Denis is no longer with us.
Although I never worked really close with him, each time I met him during my time with Sixnet and Red Lion Controls, he always approach me and others as friendly as if we were long time friends. When you talked with Denis he would listen and show interest, I never had the feeling it was not genuine.
Dennis will be missed and I want to offer my condolences to his family and friends.

I had the pleasure to work with Denis for several years. While I never worked in his direct organization, he always made time to mentor me. I left every meeting with him feeling smarter for the experience. As others have said, he was not just brilliant, but also an all-around great guy.
To his family, I am sorry for your loss.

Denis was a member of my management team at 3Com and I hired him again when I became the CEO of Sixnet.

Technically, he was brilliant, but more importantly, he was just a great guy. He was forthright, honest and fun to be around. I will miss our frequent check in calls.

I pray for the family's comfort during this difficult time.

Denis was my older brother by eight years. Despite our age difference, he would take me all around with his friends. I remember going to Terry Hannigan's 21st birthday party, even though I was probably only 13. When his friends would come to the house, I would hang out with them as if I was part of the gang; very sweet for a young boy to let his little sister hang with friends. He helped me with my eighth-grade science fair project, a mini computer! I didn't win first prize for that because no one believed I actually built it, but Denis had taught me the science and logistics.
He always looked after me and was the first to call if there was any celebration or distress in my life. He was always there if I needed him, even though we usually lived miles apart. He was lucky enough to find Linda, who I adore and will always consider to be my sister.
Rest my brother, with Mother and Dad and Cathy. Someday, Brian and I will be with you to torment you again like we did as kids. I love you, Annie

I had the honor of working with Denis for a number of years. He was a mentor to me. I admired his calm demeanor and incredible ability to react in just the right way in all situations. I learned so much from him. The last time I saw him he threw open his arms to give me a hug as I walked across the room. I'll never forget that big smile of his! My sincere condolences to his family and his wife whom he loved so dearly.

I am very sad that Denis has passed. He and I met at 14 and became close friends bonded by the intensity of youthful energy and curiosity. He was brilliant even then, but also a fine foellow, funny, fun-loving and kind. Though time and distance separated us I always felt a closeness to him as one does with the treasured friends of one’s youth. My deepest sympathies to his wife Linda and his family and many friends.

I am so deeply saddened and offer my sincere condolences to the Denis's family and friends. Denis was a mentor to me, and I learned a great deal from him in the relatively short period of time we worked together. A warm and generous heart and a brilliant mind combined to make Denis a man to be recognized and celebrated. Trust his impact on me will last a lifetime.

My deepest condolences to Denis' family. We are deeply shocked by his passing. We are still trying to grasp the news. He was such a kind, caring person. A pleasure to know and work with. He will be missed by all of us at Red Lion.
