She is survived by a nephew, David Ackerly and a niece, Nancy Barton.
Dorothy, a resident of Palm Beach County for three decades, retired from Verizon, in New York, after thirty years of service. She was active with the Telephone Pioneers of America and a long-time volunteer at the VA Medical Center.
