

Edward J. Desmarais, born September 17, 1923 to Edward Leon and Grace Desmarais, passed away peacefully December 4, 2012 in Jupiter, Florida. He was born and raised in Nashua, NH, was a long time resident of Glastonbury, CT and of Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
He served in the 9th Air Force and the 118th Infantry Regiment during World War II. He was a graduate of St. Anselm’s College, Boston University, and the University of Hartford. In 1956, Edward married Mary Elizabeth Ashe (also of Nashua, NH), who preceded him in death in 2001. Edward was a high school math and science teacher for many years, and then worked for Pratt and Whitney Aircraft in CT beginning in 1956. He relocated to Florida in 1976 and retired in 1986.
Edward is survived by three daughters, Mary Alice Mckeich (North Palm Beach), Anne (Steve) Olson of Lexington, KY and Cathy (Sam) Muscat of East Hampton, CT, six grandchildren, Beth, Colin, Kirsten, Kathyrn, Courtney and Kimberly, who will dearly miss their Papa. Other survivors include two brothers, Robert (Eleanor) Desmarais of Green Bay, WI, and Ralph (Nancy) Desmarais of Little Rock, AK, and a sister, Mary (Henry) Castonguay of Nashua, NH.
Visitation will be on Sunday, December, 16, 2012 from 3 to 5 pm, with a Rosary Recitation at 5 pm at Howard-Price Funeral Home, North Palm Beach. The funeral Mass will be on Monday, December 17, 2012 at 11 am at St Ignatius Loyola Cathedral, with interment directly following at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cemetery, Royal Palm Beach.
