Born in N.Y.C 1925, graduated DeWitt Clinton High School 1940. Attended City College of N.Y. Joined the U.S. Navy in 1942 Served in the Pacific as a Medic. Received an Honorable Discharge in 1946. Attended Temple University one year then joined American Machine and Foundry as a Chemical Engineer. He married Tykie Ganz in 1953. Accepted a position with Aerovox Corp, New Bedford Mass. Where his sons were born. Daniel E. Ganz and Ernest D. Ganz III. He transferred to Scottsdale, Arizona with Dickson Electronics for 10 years. Moved to Palm Beach Gardens, FL. With Mepco Electra in 1971. One of his many patents was the “Blue Chip” which was used in the space shuttle, also a chip in the heart pacer.
He retired in 1986. He was an honest and true gentle man and dearly loved by his friends and family. Survivors include his daughters, Linda Ganz and Lenie Ganz, grandchildren, Ernest Ganz, IV, Julia Ganz, Blake Lahti, Taylor Lahti and Maria Ganz.
Memorial service will be held on Wednesday, December 13, 2017, Howard-Quattlebaum Funeral & Event Center, 754 US Hwy 1, North Palm Beach, Florida, 33408 at 4:00 pm with Memorial Gathering until 6:00 pm.
