Francis Fiske "Chappy" Adams III

Chappy Adams, an owner of Illustrated Properties, one of South Florida's most respected real estate companies, passed away Thursday, January 10 as a result of an auto accident. Chappy was born in 1964 and raised in North Palm Beach. He graduated from the Benjamin School and then Boston College in 1987 after spending part of his Junior year at Lund University in Sweden.

After graduation, Chappy joined Illustrated Properties, a real estate company founded by his father Bud Adams, in 1976. The company continued the legacy of real estate in Palm Beach County started in the 1930's by Chappy's grandfather. Chappy worked as a commercial leasing agent, and then moved into residential sales. During his 7 years as a residential salesperson, Chappy was consistently a multi-million dollar producer.

Chappy transitioned into management at Illustrated Properties, eventually becoming president in 1995. Together with his father, Bud Adams, Chappy oversaw Illustrated Properties' 20 offices and 500 agents, as well as the company's mortgage, title and insurance affiliates.

Chappy went on to earn the Certified Residential Broker designation and represented the company at the bi-annual meeting of Trendsetters, an elite group of industry-leading real estate companies from across the country.

Chappy led the company with charisma and used his talents to blend technology with the professionalism for which the company was known. The management team of Illustrated Properties is dedicated to continuing Chappy's legacy and carrying on the tradition.

He loved life and was beloved by his colleagues, friends, and co-workers. Chappy had an incredible passion for travel and had been to more than 80 countries during his lifetime and had a love for boating and scuba diving. Chappy is a former Board Member of the Northern Palm Beach County Chamber of Commerce and current Trustee and a life-long member of the Realtors Association of the Palm Beaches.

Chappy leaves behind his mother Katrina Adams, Bud Adams, his father, Carol Adams, his step-mother, Diana Adams, his wife, Emma Adams, his daughter, and Doina Ford, his mother-in-law, all of whom live in Palm Beach County.
