

Frederick L. Ringswald, age 95, of North Palm Beach, FL, 60 year resident of Glendale, NY, passed away on Wednesday, April 9, 2014. He is survived by his wife Georgina Wipf Ringswald of 71 years, and daughter Frances Mary Ringwald of North Palm Beach and Glendale, NY. Frederick was born in Brooklyn, NY to parents Rose and Fred Ringswald on August 30, 1918 He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps and Air Force from 1941 to 1945, serving in Hawaii after Pearl Harbor. Frederick also served in the Civilian Conservation Corp. in Oregon and Idaho. He worked for TWA and Pan Am before joining the New York City Police Department “New York’s Finest” in 1948. He was a patrolman in Forest Hills, NY and shortly thereafter made detective. Frederick was a member of the Brooklyn North Burglary Squad and Brooklyn South Homicide Squad in Brooklyn, NY under the command of Chief of Detectives, Albert Seedman, solving some of the greatest crimes of our time. After retiring in 1969 from NYPD, he worked at Citicorp in New York City in the Loss Prevention Department. After moving to North Palm Beach in 1978, Fred worked for Barnett Bank, recovering stolen money.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Aycock-Riverside Funeral Home, 1112 Military Trail, Jupiter FL 33458 on Saturday, April 12, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Interment will be at South Florida National Cemetery at a later date.
