George S. Cunningham passed away suddenly after a battle with pulmonary fibrosis. He was born on July 31, 1936. George was raised in Glendale, New York, where he spent most of his life before moving to Singer Island, Florida. He had many friends in both places.
George leaves behind his loving wife, Ronnie. They were married for sixty-four years and have four children: Michael (Kathy), Suzanne, Tracy, and Scott (Jeannine); six grandchildren: Courtney (Alex), Colleen (Ricky), Brittany, Allison, Michael, and Melissa; and four great grandchildren: Jackson, Dominic, Kelly, and soon-to-be Connor.
He served proudly in both the Marines and the Navy, and had a twenty-nine year career as a New York City Firefighter.
George was loved by all. He was a devoted husband, a true hands-on father, and a good friend to all who knew him. His kind eyes, bright smile, and tender heart will be sorely missed by all.
