It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Goundry Wells (George) Bingham Jr, a beloved husband, father, and friend, who left this world peacefully at the age of 91. He was born in West Palm Beach, Florida, to Goundry Wells Sr. and Vivian Ruth Bingham.
George was a proud graduate of Georgia Military Academy, where he earned the rank of Captain, and later graduated from the University of Florida. He had a passionate career in real estate, founding his own company and notably developing the first shopping mall in Juno Beach. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to develop properties and build homes throughout Palm Beach County, leaving a lasting impact on the community he loved.
George cherished life by the ocean, enjoying fishing and traveling to explore new places. His love for storytelling brought Florida's rich history to life for those around him. He thrived in the company of others, always seeking the next adventure and sharing laughter with friends and family.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Margaret Guy Bingham; children, Edward Wells Bingham, Vivian Gail Bingham, and Sandi Bingham-Champion and was preceded in death by his second wife, Peggy Smith Bingham.
The family would like to express special gratitude to Laurie Turpie for her compassionate care during George's final years.
A celebration of George's remarkable life will take place on Friday, November 1, 2024, at Lucky Shucks, 1116 Love Street, Jupiter, Florida, from 1:00-300pm. We invite all who knew and loved him to join us in honoring his memory and the joyful moments we shared.
George Bingham's spirit will forever remain a guiding light in our lives, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
