

Helen L. Fiorentino, age 88, of North Palm Beach, FL passed away peacefully on April 9, 2015.Helen was born in Brooklyn, NY to Mary Wydie and she was a longtime resident of West Islip, NY. In her long life, she held many positions in the secretarial and managerial field, including working on the formation of the Freedom Foundation, volunteering for Sloan-Kettering Children’s Cancer Hospital and as the secretary to President Eisenhower when he was the head of Columbia University. She was an avid reader as well as an accomplished knitter. You knew you did something right if your received a sweater from Helen. In 1961, she married Frank Fiorentino and had one son, John.
Helen is survived by her loving husband, Frank; her son, John (Betsy); two grandchildren John and Bobby; her sister, Carolyn Petrow; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her nephew, Michael Petrow.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 12 from 4:00-6:00pm at Howard-Quattlebaum Funeral, Cremation and Event Center, 754 U.S. Highway 1, North Palm Beach, FL 33408. A graveside service will be held on Monday, April 13 at 3:30pm at Royal Palm Memorial Park, 5601 Greenwood Ave, West Palm Beach, FL 33407. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Helen’s name to Hospice of Palm Beach County or the Children’s Cancer Research Fund.
